HANDLING SUB-ZERO TEMPERATURES DURING SHOOTING
Keeping warm and dry are prerequisites when shooting during the winter months. I have made some recommendations on attire and layers. Hope you will find them useful.
TOP – 5 layers (from left to right)

- Uniqlo top (HEATTECH)
- Columbia top (with breathable material with little silver dots that reflect body heat)
- Ice- Breaker Fleece with hood
- Uniqlo Down Jacket with hood
- Columbia Rain Jacket
BOTTOM – 4 layers (from left to right)

- Uniqlo pants (HEATTECH)
- Columbia (with breathable material with little silver dots that reflect body heat)
- Uniqlo (warm-lined cargo pants)
- Mountain Hard Wear Men’s Compressor pants (insulated and water proof- with long side zips to slip over boots)
MISCELLANEOUS

- Marmot thin gloves (most useful for shoots; fingers remain flexible but always retain a heat pack to squeeze in between shoots)
- Gloves from THINK TANK (although thumb and index finger can be exposed; overall the gloves feel rather rigid. Useful to keep hands warm when not shooting.
- Columbia Cap (with silver dots)
- Fredickson fleece cap (I prefer to use the hoods from the attire as the caps then tend to tighten my spectacle frames to my face which makes it more uncomfortable)

- Mask to cover mouth (optional – more difficult to use as it tends to cause my spectacles to fog up)
- Woolen socks – a must

- Yaktrak (a must especially when carrying gear)
- Water proof boots from Columbia (most easy to slip in and out)
