Although the Pin-tailed Whydah originates in Africa, it has made its mark in Singapore. Its is seen usually during its mating season where the male actively pursues the female. Hovering and towering over the female, the spectacular long trailing tails makes it a must for photographers to actively pursue their dream shot. Their location varies – possibly due to land developments. They were previously found at Punggol Barat, Jalan Halus, near Changi airport and the latest – Pasir Ris Farmway 3
