Looking for the perfect background

Other than the subject, its background is equally important before one start pressing down the shutter. A messy background mars the end result. If possible, one would avoid messy branches, white spots (often due to sun rays) and other objects that disrupt the view of the image.

At times the possibility seemed impossible. Other times, one can view from the various location /angles ; or wait for different times of the day for the light to change or wait for cloud cover to neutralize the light harshness. Often it is the location of the food source that attracts the subject.

  1. Unesthetic background 2. moving to the left improves the background somewhat but a branch lies in front of the body. 3. wait for the subject to grab the branch eliminates the problem

Use of teleconverter to increase the size of the image will remove the distracting surroundings. Or cropping the image in post-editing gives the same effect.

Finding a lone fruit, away from the branches and leaves and hope that it is already partially eaten is ideal (Note: waited for 2 weeks for the squirrel to tear away the skin of the mango).
